After spending a year as a commissioned officer in the South African Navy, Erich started his career in 2000 at Alexander Forbes as an Actuarial Specialist. He later joined Metropolitan Employee Benefits as an actuarial specialist before going on to be a manager in the department in 2003. In 2009 he was appointed to the role of Fund Executive: Metropolitan Employee Benefits, where his responsibilities included administration, accounting and liaison management. From 2011 to 2016, he held numerous Executive Committee roles at Momentum Retirement Administrators, including Chief Operating Officer (Cape Town), Head: Strategy & Research and Head: Client Engagement.
During his time at MMI, Erich served as Principal Officer to Momentum’s Unclaimed Benefits Funds and served 3 terms as a member elected trustee of the Metropolitan Staff Retirement Fund, where he chaired the investment, finance and communications subcommittees.
Erich returned to Alexander Forbes as Head: Institutional Product Development in 2016. In September 2017, Erich took up a directorship at Ultreia Consulting Services (Pty) Ltd.
Erich’s strengths lie in his ability to understand and explain in lay mans terms the actuarial concepts that underpin many consulting principals. His depth of knowledge of and experience in the industry allows him to discuss points as they pertain to short, medium and long term scenarios, with a intimate understanding of how they play out in the big picture. His specialities are strategic planning and implementation, pension fund consulting and benefit design.

Monya commenced her career in the marketing department of the Cape Municipal pension fund in 1998 before joining Alexander Forbes in 2000, where she worked in the intermediary space for a number of years. In 2007, she joined Old Mutual Corporate as a Sales Consultant and developed a keen interest in pensioner outsourcings and large free standing risk arrangements which allowed her to work across various departments and with diverse teams. Monya joined Liberty Corporate as a Corporate Specialist in 2015, where she trained and advised tied agents in addressing the retirement and risk benefit needs of their corporate clients.
Not one to step away from a challenge, she enjoys creative as well as technical work. Monya’s strengths lie in servicing, member education and client relationship management. She is currently studying towards her Bachelor of Commerce (Law) degree.
